Jane and Izzy crossed the county,
From the green, green grass of home,
Excited to be meeting those we saw so long ago,
Good Friends we came together,
We’ve known each other for some time,
Megan, Sean and Nanoi,
Travelled down the railway line,
With bags and happy faces,
Enjoying the cool sunshine and historical great places.
We visited the Minster and heard the choir sing,
Also trooped to Yorvik to meet the old Viking!
Restaurants aplenty with lots of yummy food,
Jamie’s, Wilde’s and Lucia’s
Put us all in jolly moods.
Favourite shops to browse in and many things to choose,
Treats so irresistible, now many pounds to lose!
But underneath the Minster,
Tucked in tight beside the wall,
Was the house that we were staying in,
The bestest treat of all.
The beds were oh so comfy,
The sleepers did so snore,
The kitchen is so homely,
And we’d like to stay some more!
The house has just been perfect,
A special holiday to make,
Thank you for the shortbread, wine and Betty’s lovely cake!
The packing is as done now,
And the dishes put away,
Farewell for now my dear Friends,
Until another day.
