I’m not often given to writing reviews of places I have stayed, but felt I just wanted to share with everyone what a fantastic property 2 Precentor’s Court is! It is a truly gorgeous, historic house in a quiet little street right next to York Minster.
The property is beautifully decorated and oozes luxury and comfort – full of antiques, original art and lovely soft furnishings. The bedrooms are lovely, with views over the Minster and modern bathrooms have been imaginatively fitted into this characterful and historic house.
We loved the keypad entry, small courtyard garden to relax after a full day’s shopping (!) and central, large kitchen diner for meeting up to plan the next day/evening. Free parking a short walk from the property was a real surprise in the centre of York, but being so central you can walk to all the main attractions and soak up the atmosphere.
We enjoyed a walk through the Museum Gardens and along the river, and found some great restaurants literally just round the corner (we especially liked No 8 in Gillygate).
All in all a great place to stay and a hidden gem. I had a great time with friends and will definitely return, hopefully for longer next time. Try a stay here you won’t be disappointed. The Boxing Hare team think of everything and make your stay most enjoyable.
